How we keep it honest

Our house runs on rules and checked facts.

Two members of our own team help keep our work honest. Here is what each one does.

RULES

One list of house rules.

RULES keeps our one list of house rules. Each day it cleans the list and flags any rule that conflicts with another or is too vague. A stale rule is archived, never deleted, and only when our Chief of Staff agrees. Our bots ask RULES which rules apply, and it answers.

TRUTH

Only what’s checked counts as fact.

TRUTH grades a statement of fact or situation against the ground truth: Verified, Reported, Speculation or Unknown. Verified means it was checked, with the check named. Only what is Verified is treated as fact. TRUTH never changes anyone else’s work, files or systems. It keeps a log of its misses and looks for new reliable sources each day.
